Programme Description

Studying the phenomenon of European integration with the strong focus on legal aspects of the process of “creating an ever closer union among the peoples of Europe” our graduates obtain qualifications of Specialist for European Affairs. The graduates are fluent in areas that are a key part of European legal regulations. They become specialists in the scope of European problems and acquire professional skills that are demanded on the European labour market and can:

work as specialists in European Union institutions and organizations across a number of sectors, e.g. the European Parliament
find employment at all levels of the civil service and self-government
make career at the field of education, media, law, publishing, business and finance.

Students undertake compulsory 180 hours of work experience. The strong cooperation with both national and international institutions leads to many opportunities for European Studies students to get placement or internship at organizations across the public and private sectors, e.g. the European Parliament, the European Commission Representation Office in Warsaw, Representation of European Commission in Warsaw, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, unites of the central and local government, the EU Funds departments, the Rule of Law Institute Foundation and other non-governmental organizations. Students also can participate in the Erasmus Exchange Program taking advantage of various study abroad opportunities.

Professional skills:

applying for EU funds and managing EU funded projects
European Studies students can complete optional courses and receive certificates of professional qualifications from the European Union Diplomatic Academy, the European Union Competition Law Academy, the Academy of European Union Funds.

Admission Requirements

  • Foreign Secondary School Certificate

Competition on the basis of secondary school certificate – the result of the written test is scored on the two of the following subjects:

a) English language (50% of the final result) and

b) one of the following subjects: matematics, history, biology, informatics, geography or philosophy (50% of the final result). If an applicant passed more than one of the above subjects, the best result is taken into consideration.

An applicant while registering is also required to submit a document confirming English proficiency at level B2
