Programme Description

The proposed graduation program in LRM can effectively impart the knowledge and skills necessary to address today’s socio-economic challenges by integrating theory and practice. Because of these, the designed educational path is based on groups of subjects necessary for achieving relevant learning outcomes. The applied classification is as follows:

  • General subjects including mathematics, physics, environmental chemistry, ecology, biotechnology, spatial engineering and natural resource management, geoinformation, and engineering graphics. These subjects will be presented in proper socio-economic and environmental contexts.
  • Subjects linking socio-economic and legal issues to create public awareness and effectively implement economic transformation processes. These will be presented in the context of covering a wide range of activities with special emphasis on a changing climate. They include the analysis of social, economic, and legal mechanisms of environmental impact and the development of strategies and solutions that promote sustainable development while reducing the negative effects of climate change. The discussed fields include environmental economics, natural resource economics, sustainability management, energy policy, public policy analysis, and social science, among others.
  • Environmental subjects that take into account inventory, valorization, environmental assessment, principles of air protection, climate, animate nature systems, soil and water environment, and circulation of matter and energy in the environment.
  • Technological subjects and subjects, including issues related to technical infrastructure, are crucial for solving engineering tasks in spatial management. Among others, there are ecological construction, water supply, sewage disposal, landfill, energy, and transportation systems in rural areas. These will be completed by issues of spatial engineering, water management, agricultural and forestry technologies related to soil conservation, reclamation, revitalization, and regulations governing their availability and use.
  • Subjects presenting techniques and tools of information technology. These are mainly aimed at areas like spatial data resources, ways of acquiring and processing, and health and safety requirements for working with data. Surveying, cartography, urban planning, construction, and environmental engineering are also there. This group of subjects includes principles of engineering graphics, too. The above-mentioned subjects are necessary for the planning and managing of space, both in urbanized and non-urbanized areas.
